How your robot works
How do I prevent my Shark® robot from getting caught on rug corners?
During your first few cleanings, you may need to make some small adjustments to optimize your robot's performance.
- Make sure you find a permanent location for the dock in a central area with strong Wi-Fi signal.
- Always prep your home before cleaning. Clear away cords and other obstructions smaller than 2.8" tall. If an obstruction can't be moved, block off the area with no-go zones in the app.
- Your robot may find its way under furniture with low clearance, but not be able to free itself. Try using with no-go zones in the app to block problem areas. If possible, move furniture away from the edges of carpets or rugs.
- Your robot can easily climb over obstacles up to 3/4" high. Obstructions higher than this may present a challenge. Use with no-go zones in the app to block off these areas.
- If the dock or base is blocked by obstructions, your robot may have difficulty returning to it. Make sure the dock is centrally located, with 3 feet of clearance on both sides.
You may purchase BotBoundary
® strips to block off physical areas here

Note: we do not recommend placing BotBoundary
® under a rug.

Yes, when it's in in VACMOP™ mode, your robot will vacuum while it mops your hard floors. The robot goes into VACMOP™ mode when the fluid reservoir is filled and properly installed.
If the reservoir is not installed, the robot will vacuum, but it won’t mop. If the reservoir is empty when it is installed, your robot will give an error message stating the reservoir must be filled before it is able to clean.

For the first minute of a mopping run, your robot will prime the pad with the perfect amount of water, so there is no need to pre-soak the pad.
If you replace the pad within 30 minutes of the initial priming, your robot will not prime the new pad. In order to bypass this, turn the power switch on the side of the robot to the OFF (O) position. Wait 60 seconds, then turn it back on, and your robot will enter Priming Mode again.

When the reservoir needs to be refilled, your robot will stop its cleaning run and the water droplet icon on the robot will illuminate in red.
In the app, an error message will appear when the reservoir is empty and needs to be refilled. You can send your robot back to the dock to refill the reservoir, or you can refill it in the same place where your robot stopped, and then continue the cleaning run.
